In 2012, we began building the ‘green factory’. Its design already allowed for installation of solar panels in the future. This is crucial in fact, as heavy solar panels add considerable weight to the roof.

This year the roof was covered with 2,826 solar panels and 1,413 optimizers, to be precise. An optimizer is an intelligent box placed under two solar panels. It ensures maximum use of the energy generated by an individual solar panel. Without these optimizers the yield of the solar panels would be determined by the weakest solar panel.

This makes Auping even greener.
